'03 BMW X5 microfilter
Howdy, it's me again. The maintenance schedule on this thing says I need to replace the microfilter but I have no idea what or where that is. My instincts tell me it's the intake air filter, but I want to make sure. The local parts store has no clue and the dealer is reluctant to talk. Any idea what or where it is? Thanks in advance, you've been huge help to this point.

Oops!
Smokey, I steered you wrong; that info link was for a Mini Cooper.

Most all vehicles built after 1999 have the in cabin filter.

The Cabin Air Filter is located under the hood. Directly in the center of the engine compartment near the windshield there is a slot with a cover. The slot directly over the center of the engine cover.
Hope this helps ya,
