Radio Removal

Hello i'm replacing the radio in my 1994 plymouth acclaim. When i removed the panel covering the radio i noticed there was a wire attached to the panel. I'm not sure what this wire does and / or how i go about removing it. ( I stopped here in case it was like a sensor that triggered an airbag or something) I included a picture below of it. & in case ur wondering the car doesn't have an alarm.

Looking at the picture, it looks a lot like an interior temp sensor. Do you have automatic climate control? Meaning, electronic control, digital fan control etc? I am certain it is not part of the safety restraint system. No chance of the air bags going off. If you are only doing a radio, and you dont know how to unplug it, push it off to one side.
