Hey there ya all,
I'm from down under,, G'day Mate!!!
Was that cheesey? Anyway I have a 1994 Toyota Lexcen. The Ignition Key is a Holden VR Commodore Key which I first thought was strange but since looking into it I have found that they are both pretty much one in the same car.
My problem is is that the key has been damaged and I am unable to override the security system, therefore I am unable to take the car to a dealership and have a new key coded, The only option is a tow and I don't want to do that if possible.
Can someone please explain to me how the electronic ignition system on a 1994 Toyota Lexcen works, what parts of the car are immobilised and ultimately if their is an override system and just how it works.

If it's just the key that's damaged you should be able to simply take with you proof of ownership and the vin # off the dash to the dealer and they can get you a new key.

PM'd reply from Andy.
I would have thought that it would be a fairly easy process too but it is the electronic circuit board inside the key that has been damaged, therefore the dealer needs to code the key to the car, thats why he needs both.
