Question 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alarm Problem

I think that my alarm is disarm because when I press the lock button the lights and the horn turn on by a second, but when I pull the door handle or hit the cars body the alrm doesnt turn on. If the alarm is disarm I would like to know how can I arm it, or how can I make a diagnostic to know if the alarm is working properly.

Arm it and unlock the door with the key and open it. The alarm will sound in about 15 to 20 seconds. You can then turn it off by cranking the engine or pressing the disarm button. I do this almost weekly on my wife's Saturn. She locks it with her fob and I unlock it with a key, setting off the alarm in 15 seconds.

No, the dome lights always turn off when I close the doors.
I have another question, the dome ligths must turn on when any door handle is pulled or not?, because it doesn't turn on when I pull the handle.

Not necessarily. It is usually an option or indigenous to a particular model of car. Have you tried the arming and unlocking with the key, yet?

On the Jeeps, unlocking the door with the key disarms the alarm. Just pulling on the handle will not set the alarm off, the door latch has to open. Roll the window down and arm the alarm. reach in and unlock the door, then open the door. If the alarm sounds, it is operating as designed.
