Question '01 Suburban headlight problem

My '01 Suburban has about 150000 on it. It is still running great although this last week the headlights starting to turn off intermitently or not want to turn on, until I adjusted the steering column. I can usually get the lights back on by adjusting the column but not always. What should I be checking for here? I have all panels pulled under the steering wheel. What next? There are too many wires for guess work.

Since it reacts to the adjustment of the steering wheel, it could be a wire kinked and broken within the casing, and it only makes contact with itself at certain points. You can turn on the headlights and start wiggling wires to see when the lights fail. Hopefully it isn't way up in the column, and in the bundle you are looking at.
