99 Ford Taurus Decelerates Whgile Driving

Hey,

Appreciate any help on this one:

1 - Wife driving to work on highway - car suddenly decelerates/slows down. Then picks back up.

2 - Happened 5 times.

3 - Taurus with 120,000 miles on it.

4 - Just replaced the battery.

I have no idea and was hoping for advice or things to try here.

When was fuel filter & air filter last changed? Good time of year for moisture in the fuel, try adding "Heet" or similar "gasline anti-freeze with moisture remover", just as an added precaution. Does vehicle do the same around town? Possibly a sensor acting up, but I would eliminate the above, cheap things first.

95 altima again sensor issue?

hi i have a 95 altima with about 160k on it just put in brakes and drove to the twin cities and back and when i started it up the next morning it ran fine till i was about halfway to work and it sputtered and died couldnt restart it had it towed mech couldnt find the problem towed it home and it strted right back up the next morning but runs really rich and the motor kicks pretty hard like its misfiring exhaust is almost greyish/black but no oil loss on the dipstick no loss of coolant or other fluids runs really rough but if you press on the gas it kicks hard then dies i need to get this fixed b4 the snow flies as i dont like the bus or taking a taxi those are very very expensive now that duluth has a free market on them, anyone know what the problem may be would be a great help, i also have a 94 ram 1500 with brand new fuel pump runs fine but the gas guage always reads empty or a hair above empty friend said it needs to have the guage reset or somthing of the sort the ram has no plates so i cant drive it but i need to fix the car as i was getting about 35 mpg b4 it started acting up.Read More

Bought this car used in May 07, the radio that was in it did not work at all. (The rear defrost switch worked, and the AC/Heat controls worked, but that's it) I bought 2 other radios on Ebay, both of which work in other same year model cars. I even bought another "controller?" (the box that mounts in the trunk that the antenna wire connects to) with no such luck. I was in the process of trying out a simple 12v radio and realized that the speaker wire connection is terminated somewhere. I can connect to the speakers directly and have sound so I know the speaks are good. #1 Why do I have zero power to any factory radio (have tested all the leads using wiring diagram and have appropriate voltage) #2 Where in the heck do the speaker wires go after leaving the radio connector and before reaching the speakers? Using a cable toner I found that the power and antenna power wires go to that mystery controller in the trunk. Ford wants 75 bucks to check it out with no guarantees.
