1989 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo

We have an 1989 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo.......it has been well maintained by the previous owner. We just replaced the CV shafts and it still is making a noise associated with the steering. Any suggestions?

Depends on what noise we're talking about. It could be a wheel bearing. Take it out on a parking lot (no police watching) and swerve from side to side with it. If the noise changes pitch or severity, it could indicate a wheel bearing.

Could be something else, but it's a place to start.

Hope this helps,

Bob

If it's kind of a groaning noise, could be power steering, but you can probably eliminate that by turning the wheel while stationary to see if you get the noise. Noises are hard to diagnosis second-hand.
