Toyota Highlander power window problem

Hey guys

I have an 04 highlander limited, and am having a problem with the drivers side window.

It will go down but when I go to close it it will stop and reverse itself back to the full down position.

It varies as to when it will go up maybe 1" or 1/4 to 1/2 way up then back down. If I grab the glass it will stop and if I lift it when I hit the switch it will go all the way up.

This is intermittently, the dealer already changed some part that was over $400.00 (was not the motor or regulator, and it was a warrentee)

Any suggestions???

Thanks

Rob

Toyota has an automatic safety reverse so that arms, heads, necks, etc. don't get caught in the window.
It sounds like either the window is binding which would make it think that there is an obstruction, or the sensing mechanism is too sensitive.

Thanks for your reply.

It is going in for it's 50,000 in a week or two and I will tell them to check those two things.

I concur

I concur with Goldstar there is a bind someplace. Have dealer lube window tracks and linkage.

good deal

Great glad you got the window repaired and let us know. I also have a 05 highlander that I need to give a lube treatment to when it gets warm and stops raining.
