93 plymouth voyager temp gauge.

My temp.gauge keeps going up and down from the middle down to cold and back up could this mean my thermostat is bad? and if so does a thermostat leak when it is bad and about how much will it run to get it repaired thanks for the info.

Could be a number of things including thermostat, temp sensor, wiring/connections, indicator, or even low coolant level.

A bad thermostat will not leak externally.

First thing, check to make sure your coolant level is full. Beyond that the other items on the list will require some assistance from someone. Simple thermostat replacement should run you about $50-75 depending on the labor rate in your area. It's fairly DIY-able if you know anyone mechanically inclined to tackle it for you. Ditto the temp sensor; both are fairly cheap items and not hard to replace.
