Cool 1992 Honda Civic won't start

The car turns over but as soon as the key is released from starting the engine it dies. If I hold the key and don't release it all the way the engine continues to run. Do I have an ignition switch problem?

It is very likely that the contacts in the ignition switch are worn out. This is somewhat common on older Honda's. The electrical part of the ignition switch can be replaced separate from the ignition lock cylinder so you will not need a new ignition key. Not a difficult job to replace either but it is hard on the back.

OK thanks, I'll give that a try. After playing with the key, it started. Has to be in the switch.
