'94 Dodge Caravan Airbags

'94 Dodge Caravan Airbags
We just bought a '94 Dodge Caravan fairly cheap and good condition for the money and mileage. Anyway, the airbag light is on when the vehicle starts, and we know that that has to be checked out. My questions is here, in Canada, can we have the bags deactivated without a specific medical reason, as we're not too comfortable with them.
If we do keep them/have to keep them, I believe that it could just be a fuse right? If not, what else, because we don't want to unload a ton fixing it.. and like mentioned would prefer to have them off.

My guess is that it may very well be just a fuse also, but here's a link to the MTO , that you may want to read. When you get there, simply click on heading "air bags".

Thanks for the help. This problem is now fixed. See, the rear windshield wiper wasn't working either, and there was an airbag and rear wiper combined 20 amp fuse. That was it! The airbag light now goes off when it should and the wiper works.
