parking break handle on 96 buick century

I have only 60K miles on this drive it too and from work mostly.
Last week I pulled the break release and out comes the handle and about 5 inches of frayed cable. Lucky for me there is a little bar under the dash that you can release the break so I got to work.
I have searched on what is involved in replacement and where I might find the handle/cable assembly all to no end on the net.
I can not find any info about the parts or replacement of this.
Can someone point me in a direction on what to buy and how to replace this?

thank you for any and all help

More than likely it's a dealer part only, and it's probably going to be a cable and outer sheath assembly. I don't remember this series of vehicles, but the cable will either come from the dash under the vehicle to a splitter/balancer arrangement (easier) or back to each rear wheel brake assembly (harder).
