oil burning smell
2003 cadillac cts. After running when you come to a stop it smells like oil burning on the exhaust manifold. On inspection there is no smoke in the engine compartment and the dipstick reads full. I don't see any evidence of leak from the head gasket. 60,000 miles.

I looked again closely and noticed some oil residue at the corner of the valve cover. It may be dripping out and landing on the manifold causing the smell. There are some sort of torx type bolts holding the valve covers down. Should I just try tightening these? This motor has 4 valve covers underneath a bunch of other stuff but the one on the lower driver side may be the cause.
