ball joint boot replacement - practical?

How practical is it to replace just the rubber boot of a ball joint or a tie rod end?
Assuming the boot damage is fresh and no grits got inside and the replacement boot is located, how do I fix the boot at the base?

I wouldn't bother with just replacing the rubber boot, I'd go ahead and put in the new joint & boot.

How do I replace the turn signal relay in my 1999 audi A6 quattro? I've read where I have to dismantle the radio and I've also read where all I need to do is pry out the emergency flashers. Thank you for any response.
