What is the best way to change the oil pump. Anyone aware of a site that would give instructions?

I'd recommend getting a Chilton or Haynes manual at Autozone or similar. Hardest thing will be removing the oil pan if there are crossmembers in the way! Once the pan is off, the pump should be a breeze.

yes, autozone.com has them
http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

Not much to them as it is pretty much just removing the oil pan, removing the pickup, then unbolting the pump

Thumbs up Oil Pump Removal

both good and correct answers. usually the motor/engine will have to be raised to get the pan off. use a hoist, . if available, other wise CAREFULLY place a jack with some sort of cusion under harmonic balancer, remove motor mount bolts and raise engine sufficiently to remove the pan. remove pump(drive rod will probably fall out). replace with new pump(remembering to replace the drive rod-hex shaped shaft), new pan gasket. SLOWLY lower engine and replace motormount bolts.
check pan for trash/metal etc.(good time to check crank/rods/end play/look for worn parts?)good luck!!
