overheating uphill
94 chevy k1500 overheats in hard pulls, can you tell me why?replaced radiator,fan clutch,water pump, thermostat, heater core, hoses, any help is appreciated.

Have you flushed the engine, yet? Changing all the peripheries won't help if the engine is sludged up. Did you change the water temperature sending unit? Does the engine quit or steam off during these pulls? It is normal for engines to heat up during hard uphill pulls, but not overheat, of course.

Your cooling system may be getting used up trying to cool off transmission, tranny REALLY heats up during heavy hauling or going uphill on warmer temps., I have standard a tranny temp gauge on both of my work trucks ( chevy K2500 and K3500 ) and you can really see that tranny getting hotter sometimes.
Thats why 1500's are rated for light duty, cooling system is not designed for heavy pulling ,nor is the tranny or differential for that matter.
