do drain plugs come loose over time. the car is way past due. to show you how loose the plug was i thought the wrench slipped or i had the wrong size socket on the wrench it turned that easy is this normal

oil plug

No they don't just become loose on their own, now better not too tight that over tighten, you can easily mess up the thread on oil pan if you over do it, just take it easy with the wrench.

ok its tight. its overfull and i drained some of it out but didn't make a difference. i will leave it be.if i drain too much im in trouble so will leave it i had to remove the plug all together to drain some of the excess oil couldn't have it loose and slowly drain out the access.

plug

I thought you said car was past due for an oil change why dont you just change the oil all together while you're at it ?
it's not good for engine to have too much oil either

sorry to confuse you. yes i just changed the oil. thats why i was asking about the plug. im confused about the reading. when i remove the dipstick it shows it as way over full but when i wipe it stick it back in and remove it its around the operating range.

oil level

Ok you should be good to go then , yeah after engine shut off dipstick will have oil all over due to engine oil pump operating and circulating oil thru engine, so when you take it out just wipe it off and don't mind that reading.
True reading will be after 3-5 minutes ( if its warm faster ) after engine shut off to allow all engine oil to drain back to oil pan.
