Open the hood and look to the left front of the compartment. Right up front you will see a black box about 12 x 7" from which a red and black cable exit from the side. Let us know if you find it, as there have been alot of thefts lately.

Was at a local garage the other day and there was a customer there picking up her who related a story about having a battery go bad back there and the acid ate a hole right through the floorboard. Can't say that location was the smartest thing the auto engineers ever cooked up. I love going out on jump start calls on the cars with the battery in the trunk. Sometimes the customer doesn't know that and thinks I'm nuts when I tell them to pop the trunk.

Was driving down 2-track years ago out in the middle of nowhere in a National forest looking for trout streams and the Volkswagon bug hit a bump and the battery located under the back seat fell out through the bottom of the car, as acid ate hole through floorboard. Had to walk back and pick it up.

My Caddy has the battery under the back seat. It has vents that take the fumes and any leakage outside the car. It's 7 years old and so far there's not a hint of corrosion back there.

There is a hot lug and a ground lug under the hood so you can jump it without taking the back seat out, too.

Remove the brace that goes from the strut tower to the core support. Remove the air filter box assembly. Loose the fuse block above the washer reservoir. Remove the reservoir. Remove the battery.
