In all fairness, don't many auto makers have recalls at some time or another, or tire companies, or don't various manufacturers have problems with car parts and have information out on service bulletins because the parts fail prematurely?

Yes, all companies have their problems, but it seems like domestic vehicles have had bad issues with safety concerns lately, like the cruise control systems starting fires, air bag issues, etc.

I'm pretty sure these domestic companies are getting more media attention then the foreign because of their financial problems.
