2002 Grand Prix Brakes Lights don't work

My 2002 grand prix brake lights and rear speakers don't work. I have checked the bulbs and fuses and there all ok. The taillights work and the brake light in the rear window works. Can you help?

thanks

Sounds as though you have a connector loose. I don't know that the brake lights and rear speakers share connectors anywhere, but that would seem likely. You're probably going to need to pull trunk lining out and trace wire bundles. Look for anywhere that speaker wires and brake lights have a common connection. Going to take some detective work and troubleshooting with a voltmeter.

Question

radio speakers work on LOW voltage from the radio. the brake lights work on 12 volts. no connection. sounds like 2 problems. if the third brake light works, then there must be a problem with the connecdtions or wires to the other brake lights. does this vehicle have small(20 guage?) wires to the brake lights or more like 18? some vehicles use a (for lack of the correct term) transformer to reduce voltage to the lights and saves (i guess) on wire and bulbs. if the wire is small, trace the wire back where it comes from to the ?transformer? it may be behind a panel in the trunk. hope this helps.
