94 Jeep GCL Inermittent Stalling

Hi all!
My son is going through some problems with his 94 GCL. Runs great and then suddenly cuts out. If he is moving it usually catches itself and restarts, but if at a light he must restart. So far we have done dry gas, fuel filter O2 and MAP sensors. I also pulled each and every fuse and relay and sprayed them and contacts with cleaner. I will check the PCM tonight as I have heard something about loosing some screws on it??? Does anyone know on the 94 if that is the thing on the drivers side inner fender wall that sorta looks like a computer hard drive? If so what do I need to do, open it? We would appreciate any help. So far have spent about 300 bucks with the mechanic, hoping maybe I can do better after listening to you guys. Havn't try'd the Crankshaft position sensor yet. Is that something I could change on my own? I have heard many people suggest that.
Thanks again!!!

first check the sensor codes to see what trouble is indicated -- a mil light on your dashboard may be telling you you have a problem and the computer odbii may help

otherwise a code may not be thrown --

there are 2 sensors that may cause that kind of problem.

The first is the camshaft sensor once dead or dying it will make the engine act like it is over 5000000 miles worn out and staling with restarting soon after all the time.

The second is the crakshaft sensor-- this one slowly kills the truck until finally it does not let the truck start at all.

Still Stalling

Replaced O2 sensor, Fuel filter, MAP sensor. Did dry gas and cleaned all fuses and relays with contact spray. Also had new plugs, wires and cap and the injectors cleaned. Looked at crank position sensor....No way, I could never get to that. It did run well for a week or so but cut out again today. Giving up. Going to try my mechanic again to see if he can get to the crank sensor. He has an idea for some other gadget on the throtle body that may be sticking.
Can't get it in till the 14th, well let you know how I make out....I'm sure it'll be another couple of hundred, oh well....good thing we got this thing at a good price and had some of the insurance money left over for repairs. Oh ya, by the way, developed a new problem. Now it bucks between first and second in the morning untill I drive 2 or 3 miles, gets better as I drive. Checked trans, it was low. Added Fluid and smooth shifting now, but still not in the morning (cold). Oh ya, by the way, NO CODES either!

Sounds like the camshaft sensor

easy fix on a straight 6 - just get a new sensor 2 bolts

crank sensor is a pain to get to ----- really like the designers went to a lot of trouble to make the jeep hard to fix for no good reason ? eh
