Lower intake manifoldGaskets

I have a 98 Ford Windstar 3.8L that I am installing new lower intake manifold gaskets into. There are two separte gaskets one labeled left and on labeled right. My problem is that I am not sure which one I should put where. The locations seem to be either front or rear. They can both be positioned to fit on either side, the only difference is where the gasket bocks on of the holes in the manifold. I read in the manual that the rear valve cover is the right valve cover. Shall I assume that also the right manifold gasket is the rear side of the engine when standing at the front of the vehicle looking towards the back?
Any info would be helpful.

Yes, if the terms left and right are used the rear bank would be "right" which is where it would be if you rotated the engine back to the traditional rear wheel drive position. Also for gaskets that are not reversible it's a good idea to note how the old one looks/installs when you disassemble.

Thank you very much for your input... I have learned a lot through each step of this process...will definately be checking gaskets before I take them off from now on.
