Service recomendation hep
Enclosed is a copy of an e mail sent to me by my niece. I told her I would start with item # 3 first, then do #1 or 2 next(depending on her cash flow) then do #4 then # 5.Do you agree?
"Last year I had the 60K mile service, which did a lot of stuff, plus they connected to that machine that talks to the car computer to find out what it says plus they did an investigation to see what else is wrong. At that time they found lots of service "recommendations". While it was in the shop I went ahead and got 2 off their list fixed. They found an emmissions leak so got a new gas cap and I guess my battery cables were badly corroded so fixed that one too.
The rest of their "recommendations" are the issue now. Which are:
1. $126 Oxygen Sensor
2. $210 EGR Valve
3. $155 Torque Axis Mount (which it is starting to...well there's just a lot of vibration when it is just sitting & loud which is my biggest concern lately)
4. $ 75 Transmission Service
5. $145 Fuel Injection Service
- all the prices are from the Saturn Dealership & not sure if include labor"

question
Is the check engine light on? #1 and 2 are questionable. if they were at fault you would have a light.
#4 is good preventive maintenance at a pretty good price.

#3
Just wait until 90K and they recommend replacing the cabin filter. A cute $300. I agree with Michael, unless you have a check engine light on, forego #1 & 2. The others are good PM.
