change heater core

How hard is it to change the heater core in a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 2wd? It is bypassed right now but its getting hot in the south and I need to run my a/c. We already flushed it and it didn't help so I guess the heater core is toast.

The heater core has nothing to do with the A/C. The evaporator is the part which cools the air that comes out of the air ducts.

You need to check the A/C system. First step would be to see if the compressor kicks in when you switch to air.

if it was putting out heat, the heater core must be good. turn the a/c on MAX AIR and see what happens. if the compressor clutch engages and the compressor turns, you should have cold air. if the clutch does not engage, it may be low on refrigeant. if the cluch engages and it blows hot/warm air, you may have a door/doors not opening/closing in the evap./heater case. more info.!
