'79 Ford LTD

Hi,

We changed the module, distributor, coil, condenser, wire & plugs. Some time it starts and sometimes it don't. Any clues?

Thanks,
Gary

You did all the work yourself? Have you worked on cars thru the years to check all the basic stuff? Like, the choke works when it should. The timing is right. That there is no carbon tracking. Or electrical arcing of the wires (good to look for this at night) Compression good, etc., etc.?

Could you elaborate about this condition more?

Welcome to the forums Gary!

I had a similiar problem with my 76 ford 4x4. I replaced all the ignition parts but it didn't help. I later found a bad piece of wire harness - it worked when you pressed the tester on it but would fail when you removed the lead

What does it do [or not do] when it won't start?

Found the problem!

Hey Guys,

Thank you for your time and response. I really appreciate it.
One of the wires leading to the coil (snap on) attachment was loose. Starts every time now. We probably had this problem for a long time and did not know it. So far so good.

Once again,
Thanks
Happy Easter...
