tap splices

Hi, I replaced a spoiler brake light. For the wiring, I was going to use a new tap splice in place of the old one. Can I tap it into the same exact place as the old one?

i would tap another part of the wire, it might be worn down and may not make a good connection. Solder and heat shrink is always best. Those tap splices do work themselves sometimes.
