Illumination Needed
My brother has a problem with his '93 Dodge Caravan (6 cyl). Starting last night, when he turns on the high beams, the headlights go out completely. Any suggestions? ¡Gracias!

Or the high beams are burned out. On some cars the low beam goes off when the high beams are used. Try replacing one bulb first. If it solves half of the problem, replace the second bulb. If the first bulb doesn't solve the problem, then look to the high beam switch.

remove the connector at the lamp assembly...one wire is black, this is ground. the other 2 wires are hot...1 for lo beam, the other for hi beam. turn the headlamps on and test for voltage with a test light...then switch beams and try the other wire. if one wire works and the other doesn't, bad dimmer switch. if both wires have voltage present, bad bulb. try the test on both lamps...

How about a bad headlight relay? If you can find them in the power distribution center, you can usually swap out another relay from another spot (look at the part #); they're usually all the same.
Good luck.
Good luck.
