I have changed my front brake pads and due to the previous owner/mechanic I had to change the left caliper ( the stripped the threads in the caliper) I have also bled the brakes, however I do not have any pressure in the pad and almost no brakes, the brake light comes on too when I apply the brakes..any idea what the problem can be?

what year?
when you were bleeding or doing the service, did the master cylinder run out of fluid? it sounds like there is still air in the system. if it got air in it from the "master cylinder" end of the system, it's likely that you now have air trapped in the ABD unit. if that's the case, it will need to have a function test performed with a scan tool.
you might also describe your bleeding procedure if it got air in just from replacing the caliper.
