my gran am

I have a 94 pont gran am and the power door locks and the lighter wont work now. I checked all the fuses and they all checked out ok. now is there a fuse some where else other than in the fuse box on the drivers side? can some one please help me?

check your courtesy fuse...it powers the power door locks and the cig lighter. you may have something in a cig lighter that caused the fuse to blow...or it may be time for a new lighter element. does the cig lighter get used alot?

Replacing starter solenoid on '94 Chevy S10

I have a 1994 Chevrolet S10, 2wd, 2.3 liter, straight 4 cyl., automatic It won't start. You turn the key....nothing. I removed the front driver-side tire, and tried the screwdriver trick on the starter solenoid and it fired right up. This tells me the starter solenoid is bad. (right?) Is it possible to replace just the solenoid, (which appears to be mounted on the starter motor), instead of the solenoid AND the motor? Or is it all one piece? Also, any tips or tricks on replacing this would be appreciated. Does anyone know if other items need to be removed to make this happen on this model truck? (ie. Exhaust)Read More

1999 Ford Windstar Door Ajar Light Stuck On

Someone gave me a 1999 Ford Windstar. When I first got it, the dashboard was a Christmas tree because every light was on. After fixing every system and getting the lights to turn off one by one, I am stuck with the door ajar light staying on. It seems to interfere with the alarm system too, because the alarm occasionally beeps for no apparent reason. History: I know the car was rear ended. I know that the 2 swinging and two sliding passenger compartment doors are not the problem, because when I open any of those, the door alarm chime beeps, telling me that the system is detecting that those doors are closed and then being opened. When I open the rear trunk door, there is no beep. The magnetic sensors on the trunk area are in place and appear to line up correctly. What should I look for so that I can get the door ajar light off and have the interior lights be off without me turning the interior light switch (on the dimmer) off?Read More
