Question Unknown Service Items

2003 Hyundai Sonata Timing Belt and the same car Fuel filter. The manual says to inspect at 60K.But where is the fuel filter anyway in the tank.

Passenger side of engine bay...On a bracket bolted to the firewall......

please, find out if your engine is listed as "interference" one or not. if it is, you are almost destined to replace your timing belt now. interference engine is the one that when timing belt is torn, valves don't have enough clearence for rising piston, and they collide. not good.
my son's eclipse is that way. same 60K miles recommendation and advice to replace.

Good suggestion from ukrkoz. I looked it up and according to Gates it is in fact an interference, aka valve-bender, engine. What this means is forget about inspecting it at 60,000 miles; replace it.

or he could be like the customer I had back in 89 who insisted that the factory interval was 100K, at about 78K the belt broke and I had to put a new head on his 300zx. OUCH
Murphy was an optimist.
