Nissan Pathfinder as Tow vehicle
I have a 1997 Pathfinder Se 4wd automatic. Can the vehicle be towed with the transfer case in netural and the transmission in park? I have received mixed answers. Manual says no.
Thanks

Absolutely not.........
For short distances and low speeds, it is recommended to remove the driveshaft(S).
Anything else would require a "FLAT BED".....
Wait for "TOWGUY"....he would know for sure.

I've got conflicting data. The website I can access for data says 20mph/20 mi limit, but the paper tow manual says "0/0".
If you called me I would simply drop the drive shaft and tow it from the front; do it all the time. Once the shaft is strapped up out of the way can tow unlimited distance and speed. Few blocks at low speed probably wouldn't matter.
Unclediezel is a tow guy in cognito.

I swear I saw somewhere about a kit to 'disconnect" the driveshaft? Maybe in an RV magazine? I'm presuming that might be what this is about? Towing behind an RV as a secondary vehicle?
