Smile Can 98 Jeep Cherokee Tires go on 01 Jeep Cherokee?

I have an 2001 Lorado tire size says 22575-16. One is ready to blow out with slit on sidewall. Friend has 2 used tires off 98 Jeep Cherokee. They MAY be the 15's. I don't know yet. If so can I still use them?? Thanks, Katie

Standard size on a 98 Cherokee is 225/75/15's. To small for your rim.

Could you just ask your friend what size they are?

using mismatched tires sizes can be as bad as the tire with the cut on the sidewall. you can't put a 15 inch tire on a 16 inch rim...but the bolt pattern for either rim could be the same and that way you could make it happen. use only the tire size specified for that vehicle. information is located on the tire placard somewhere in the drivers door jamb.

Also it's not a good idea to engage the 4 wheel drive if all 4 tires aren't the same size!

right you are! that will cause driveline bind which can break differential gears...it will also cause the abs braking system to malfunction or not work at all. in fact, abs and AWD systems are so sensitive to different rolling circumferences that even a tire that IS the correct tire but has more wear than say the other three, can cause the aforementioned issues...many a viscous coupling has been replaced because of tire mismatch...
