Question Malibu a/c not cooling

My 99 Malibu's ac doesn't cool, although when overhauled the compressor works, and fuses are fine. My mechanic says he forgot what the issue is. Any ideas?

first thing is to see if the system has a charge, any mechanic will be able to do this. If the system is low or out of refrigerant he's going to have to find the leak (seal, corroded line, condenser?) If he did the compressor it could be the compressor seal or possibly the seal at the line, should be easy for him to track down.
good luck

Thanks

I saw the mechanic checking the fuses (under the hood) and when he touched a specific spot somewhere in that box- the compressor began working. He also said the pressure was fine (there is refrigerant) when that overhaul was done. As soon as he let go (I think he was using a voltmeter) the a/c wasn't cool anymore= the compressor, and pressure, went off again.
Could it be a loose contact? Malibus seem to be famous for that.
Thanks again

I have occasionally found a poor connection on the underside of the underhood fuse block, also, make sure there is sufficient tension at the connectors.

Mechanic found problem

The mechanic spent a while looking into this: he hooked it to a refrigerant machine which determined that it was only half full with freon, and then when refilled the compressor still didn't work. He now says it was the temp. sensor and he will replace the whole console board- for over $250.
I hope that may have been the issue, and I am not helping him pay the mortgage on the machine...

Thanks so much for your help- at least I sounded educated by telling him your ideas.
