1. you always get what you paid for
2. it depends. if you want to drive your car into grave, then you need a good quality air filter that will last long and will pay for itslef in long run. then, high end filters, like K&N, become fesable. if you are planning on selling your car, or driving it for the next year or 2 and ridding of it - then midpriced air filter will suite you.
