2005 crysler pacifica

i bought a used 2005 chrysler pacfica several months ago. i haven't had any major problems with it with the exception of a check engine light that comes on for a few days and then goes off. the car itself runs fine, has good pickup. the owners manual says the light comes on when the gas cap is not positioned correctly or if bad gas is put into the tank. since the first time it happened, which was nearly a week ago, i have been putting a high octane of gas into the car. and then, two days ago, the light comes back on. it stayed on for a day and then blinked out again. can anyone tell me what's going on? lol

Those are Possibilities.....Not definite causes. There are quite a number of things that can trip that light.

Many auto parts franchises will scan the Related trouble code for free. Get a code # and post back..

Agree with Uncle D; until you get a code read you will be just taking shots in the dark. Skip the high octane fuel; waste of $$$. AutoZone will read codes for free, but post back here or ask a knowledgeable local person to analyze the codes before buying parts.
