2000 Ford Contour Fuel Line

Hi everyone, Hope someone can help. There seems to be a lot of gas going through the engine while i'm in park and while i'm driving. I don't press the gas peddle at all and all by itself it runs, from 0 mph to 45 mph. Even when i'm warming up the car as soon as I turn it on it sounds as if i'm pressing the gas while the emergency brake is on. While i'm driving i'm having to constantly press the brake. Is there some quick fix for this? Like a fuel line stabalizor of some sort? Thanks!

If I'm understanding you correctly, this is a dangerous situation that needs to be remedied before the vehicle is driven any more. Not only is it a safety hazard, it can also damage the mechanical systems of the car.

That being said, it sounds to me like a sticking throttle cable or perhaps a problem with the throttle body (maybe the return spring broke).

Great thanks for the info. I'll look into it. I've looked into the MAF Sensor Adaptor that may need some tuning because of the high acceleration. Thanks again for the info!
