'97 Park Ave oxygen sensors
GM did a fine job of hiding the O2 sensors in this Buick; Nationally marketed repair manuals and auto part retailers are also vague in the location.
Codes indicate 'System Too Lean (Bank 1)' for my auto.
I have been misdirected and sold the wrong sensor more than once. Before this minor repair becomes a major problem could someone provide a diagram pointing out the locations?
Thanks,
TrueWench

Couldn't find anything on a '97; here's what earlier models show:
"Under hood, center, rear engine area, above exhaust pipe flange, mounted in exhaust manifold".
I wouldn't be too fast to condemn the O2 sensor; it's one of several possibities.

THANKS, but........
Glad you're on line,
I have been so misdirected. Your info was dead on and easy to follow!
QUESTION: Should I disconnect the Battery; and what happens if I don't? oops

not nessacary for the O2 sensor just don't try changing with it running. disconnecting the bat might reset any trouble codes. that may make it easier/might make it harder to trouble shoot. does your reader show the voltage out put from the 02 sensor?
