No special tools are absolutely necessary. The job can be completed with a pair of needle nose pliers, a screwdriver and maybe a pair of regular slip joint pliers. Disassemble one side at a time so that you can use the opposite side as a reference. Remove springs and clips one at a time and reinstall with new shoes in place.
