1987 toyota corolla sedan

i just bought this car to save gas and hd a cooled a/c in it when i drove it. will still cool when you first run it but after uyou drive for a while it warms up and gets humid. can anybody tell me where the drier and the control valves are. i think it is under the batterybut not sure. or can some one tell me what else maybe wrong. have checked freon pessure and it acts like the valves maybe stuck.

what are the pressures?

static?

when first started and it's cooling well?

after it's been running and has stopped cooling?

not sure had a friend check them and that is what he said. he is not an a/c man we are both amutures. but the car is old and didnt want to put a lot of money into it but would like to be cool.

knowing the pressures would help to verify a stuck expansion valve.

so, if neither of you understands refrigeration principles, why did he say "it acts like the valves might be stuck"?
