I want to buy this car but it has a blown piston could the motor be rebuilt (im assuming that the cyinder wall is very messed up) but couldnt it be rebiult what would we have to do i am planning on buying it and here is the rebuild kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...204180953&rd=1 if i get that and rebuild it im sure there is some way to smooth out the cyinder wall right?

thats a real bag of worms indeed. a "blown" piston could mean several things. could be cracked which is less severe or it could have broken completely off of the connecting rod in which case the cylinder wall may have a hole in it...this would be VERY severe and probably not rebuildable. even a badly gouged cylinder wall may not be rebuildable to infinity standards. you really need the opinion of a reputable machinist AFTER he has looked at it and measured the damage to determine replacement piston size. you can't buy that rebuild kit without knowing what diameter piston it will need...they'll also want to know if you want standard or undersize crank bearings. the engine must be evaluated before you can buy stuff
