Door latch switch - false open door alert
'98 Ford Windstar.
Drivers side door is closed but still shows an open door warning on the dash and the open door alarm sounds every 3 minutes.
Last night at 12:30am I noticed the interior lights still on so I ventured out into the steamy night air, a humid 85 degrees soup and pulled the door panel and disconnected the harness to the latch and the lights went out and I went bed.
My question is does the latch have to be replaced or is the switch at the latch replaceable or I'll probably just leave it as is (disconnected).
