Neon gas tank problem
Have a 96 Dodge Neon, steel tank, plastic fuel sending unit. I'm trying to replace the gas tank but can't get the wire harness off the sending unit. I got the fuel lines off but not the wire harness I tried every which way. Has anyone ever removed the wire harness from the sending unit on this year car. Can't put the new tank in till the old one is out.

The clip is sort of oval shaped, with a notched spot on it. slide a small screwdriver in the slotted part and try prying slightly up & down to get it to release while pulling straight outward.Can't remember whether the little tab you want to pry, needs to be pried down from top edge, or up from bottom edge inside the notch. A little patience & it should come.
