slak in brake pedal 1995 grand am??
Just replaced the rear drums and shoes on my 95 grand am. There is now lots of slack in the brake pedal, how do we adjust this? It will not stop on a dime, it will stop but very slowly... Help please

Here is a link that may be of some help, just select your vehicle engine etc. I must say, hopefully without sounding too sarcastic, that if whoever touched these brakes in the first place, doesn't know how to bleed & adjust them properly, then they shouldn't have touched them in the first place. It's not the same as changing a spark plug & screwing it up, we're talking about brakes here ! Improperly installed they can cost you your life & maybe some innocent passenger or victim coming toward you as well. PLEASE !! get it checked by a certified, compotent mechanic before it's too late. !!! ( http://www.autozone.com/N,314457/ini...cleSelect4.htm )

Adjust
You just can not slap on some new shoes and call it good. You will have to adjust the brakes with the star wheel that moves the shoes closer to the drum. also the parking brake will need adjustment.
