I messed up the order of my wires...
I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon. Automatic, 150,000 miles, 6 cylinder. I tried to replace the 3 spark plug wires. I messed up the order of my wires. The part that is connected to the spark plugs in the back are correct. When facing the engine, from left to right, the spark plugs in the far back of the engine go 1, 3, and 5. I know that 2, 4, and 6 are in the front part of the engine. I don't know what order the other ends of the wires for 1,3 and 5 are supposed to be in at the front part of the engine. Please help! I know what the firing order is, but i don't understand where to plug the opposite ends of the plug in.

Thanks but that didn't show where the wires lead to. The 1, 3, and 5th cylinders...have the wires attached to them. Where do I plug in the other end of the wires? There are 3 pins that they goto...but in what order are they plugged in?

Umm. If you have the wires going to the spark plugs, you have the distributor. In the diagram they show a distributor as well as an engine layout. The numbers on both correspond. If you had the coil pack setup (non distributor), you wouldn't have the spark plug wires.
What part is messing you up? In terms of hooking wires to the distributor - standing at the front of the car looking into the engine compartment, the # 1 cylinder hookup would be at 10 O'clock, the # 3 hookup would be at 6 O'clock, and the # 5 hookup would be at 2 O'clock.
