90 Acura detent cable/valve

90 Acura 1.8L automatic. Have strong pull back/down when driving, examples...at 60 mph and let off gas it feels like a stick in 3rd gear, RPM is high also..about 2800. Going down a hill in D and it pulls back, put in neutral and it rolls much faster. Was told it was the detent cable, after it was looked at the cable was found to be within limits. Now looking at a stuck detent valve. NOT in a tranny shop, in a shop thats trying to keep costs down and is going to ask a friend in a tranny shop about it.
Any comments will help.

No takers so far, thought it might be that way on this.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about any transmission additives that might help in this situation. I know that is a touchy area with the tranny and also additives is close to the "oil discussions"
Would be great if something could flush this and then change the fluid and filter. Don't want to do it unless someone has had experience directly with this problem.
