exhaust pipe chevy S-10 1994
The pipe rusted out just before the cat. There is a 2 inch nipple(pipe) on the cat itself and a gap of about 1/4 inch between that and the front pipe.I looked at the pipe and it has a "y" shape attached to the manifold.I think the Oxygen sensor is screwed in to this pipe.
Do you think i could use a flexi tube to repair or replace it? Is this a job that can be done by someone who is handy?

I tried to replace the entire pipe but it was impossible to reach, with the tools I had available, the manifold. So, I did find another way to repair the pipe, which was cutt off from the cat. and was seperated by 1/8 of an inch.
I bought a stainless steel sheet 6 inch wide and enough to cober the circumference of the pipe. It came with tow bolts. It did the job just fine. You can buy this at any auto parts place , but you have to ask for it.!!!!
