1999 GMC Envoy backup light
Just had work done,on engine and Trans.Now when I put gear selector into Drive ,the back up lights come on.I know its probably from when they reconnected the wiring but I don't know where the connection is located.I think it may be under the selector P,D,N,#3rd,etc.Would take it back but the mechanic is over 150 miles away.

The backup lamp switch is located on the Left side of the transmission. It is possible that you have a short. Was the transmission removed during the visit to the mechanic?
