deteriorating clear coat
The clear coat on the top of my Mazda Protegee has peeled off in some areas on the top of the car. THe top of the car is the only place this has occurred. The rest looks great. Is removing the clear coat from the top and reapplying it something that is a doityourself project or even just removing it and not replacing it but giving it a good waxing?

It's not really a DIY job unless you are pretty handy with a spray gun (and have the equipment). You may or may not be able to wet sand it to improve the appearance; pretty iffy proposition. It's possible to buy spray cans of automotive-grade clear coat (not the small cans you can buy at Wal-Mart, but large 16 oz ones), but it would take you probably half a dozen cans and you would first have to prep it.
