Aftermarket cruise control

Hi all,

Can anyone suggest an aftermarket cruise control for 1993 Ford escort?

Thanks!

Cruise control nowadays is controlled by inputs to the vehicles PCM, which in turn makes adjustments for various conditions while operating in cruise mode. If the vehicle wasnt factory equipped with it, then the PCM isnt equipped to handle the added tasks. At best , a marginally operational accessory , with added problems to deal with.....

If it is truly something that you wont live without, your best shot would be Junkyard pickings from an equipped donor car. Steering column, ECM, and wiring harness, and the servo and drive cables. And most importantly, The FACTORY service manual for your EXACT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL....Sorry , but Chilton and Haynes cant come near a project like this....

Audiovox makes a pretty good inexpensive cruise control. I installed it in a 90 Nissan 5 speed and it works fine. It'll disengage even if I push in the clutch by mistake. Although it can run off the distributor, I spliced it into the ECM speed sensor wire too.
