2005 Buick LaCrosse - Gas Problems
The problems my wife is having with her car sounds gas related to me, but I'm not a professional. She has a 2005 Buick Lacrosse with about 48,000 miles on it. Almost every time we start it (not all the time though) it shutters then comes up to RPM. Sometimes it will start, shutter, then die. About 50% of the time when we accelerate from a stop, it jerks, like its cutting out. Its not really bad, but it is very noticeable. When it cuts out from a stop we can tell there is a noticeable lack of power. It has been doing this for several months now. At first I thought it might be the fuel pump, but I don't think it would still be running after several months. The first two things that popped into my head were the plugs, or the fuel filter was clogged. Any Help Is Appreciated!

Has the fuel filter ever been changed? I would be looking at spark plugs and wires, and maybe put some STP fuel treatment in the tank. Also change the fuel filter if it has been a while since the last change.

We bought the car new in 2005. It had 99 miles on it. It has never been changed to my knowledge. I have done seafoam on it and STP. I'm going to try to get to the plugs this weekend.
